What a find! My breakfast sandwich was delicious, the views are amazing and the service was quick!

We noticed the FLOWERING TREE as we drove up to our dinner reservation at Yamashiro Hollywood, which is about 50 feet away. It looked like a cute little bar/cafe/club. We were intrigued, so we made it a point to stop by after dinner which was around 8:15pm. By that time, the colorful stringed lights were beckoning us to stay for a bit. The movie slate boards used as table numbers/menus were a nice touch to the relaxed and cozy interior design of the cafe in the hills of Hollywood. The short menu includes Breakfast/Lunch, Coffee/Tea, Boba & Milk Tea, and some adult beverages. The Squid Games themed lattes were sold out, so we opted for iced coffee. Not as bold as I expected it to taste, but the caffeine kicked in on our ~1-hr drive back home. Service was so kind! We ended up chatting with the owner (I think!) about the small table lamps. They were so cute and functional, we ended up purchasing a pair on Amazon while we sat to enjoy the rest of our drinks! Would definitely visit again if we were back in the area!

Love this location just a few minutes above Hollywood Boulevard. You get to drive up very windy road to the top of the hill above West Hollywood. The service was very good. The location can't be beat. The food was not bad. Great relaxing spot with a very cool vibe and nice music. Yelper tip - park behind the coffee shop on the right and then take a little walk in the back - you won't regret it.

It was a cold and rainy day Dec 20, it was around 10:00 am and I looked for a breakfast place near us in Hollywood and this place came up. It seemed like a somewhat harrowing drive up the Winding road that I had always taken to Yamashiro, I thought in fact it might have been a wild goose chase. When we finally got there my friend found the illusive entry to see if they were open. The person inside confirmed same and proceeded to move a parking cone to allow me to park. It was a kind gesture that was much appreciated. Once inside, the tables were a little disheveled but we settled in. There was one person in the open kitchen (that's a plus in my book) The same person who was so hospitable was behind the counter and proceeded to show us a computer pictorial visual of the food items offered. My friend decided on the roast beef panino ( which is the correct way to describe a single sandwich, panini is plural, and the addition of panini sandwich is equally unnecessary, because panino means sandwich, so you wouldn't say sandwich sandwich) I ordered a waffle and a one sunny side up egg, plus one house coffee. When the orders were brought over, my friends beef PANINO, was excellent, my waffle was fluffy and hot, the major problem is THERE WAS NO MAPLE SURUP, what? He had offered me all kinds of sauces but the only choice I selected was honey. REALLY? It's a freshly made waffle I actually witness him mixing the batter! The side sunnyside up egg was scrambled but I felt bad telling him. All in all the food was good, the place needs sprucing up and made more approachable. It lacks that Je ne sais quoi. I wish them all the best for that hidden gem they have! I'll check in another time for sure!

Great little spot to hike to in Hollywood. Keep in mind you do have to climb a 600 ft hill to get to this small cafe tucked behind Yamashiro. The food is mainly healthy cafe style along with along with smoothies and such. I had the peach smoothie which was a little thin for me. A bit on the milky side. The ham, cheese and egg sandwich was good. Nothing amazing but still good. They top off their sandwiches with a drizzle of balsamic which is the down side for me. It adds a tiny bit of a unique taste to the sandwich but not enough to compensate for the mess it makes on your hands. You're constantly wiping your hands on napkins eating this sandwich. The service was friendly and super fast. The views were nice off the backside of the hill looking up to the Hollywood sign. Overall, I'd definitely come back.

Amazing views, lovely outdoor patio area, very airy & open space. Sandwiches were absolutely delicious, the lady there makes it herself and she is very accommodating to your dietary needs/restrictions. $20+ for a sandwich hurts but you are paying for the views and ambiance. If I get to come here again, ill just get a coffee though or a smoothie because of the high price tag on the sandwiches.
